Well X Games is over already and WOW! Do I have a story to tell. After the NC Tour I had to get another knee surgery and was out for 4 weeks.  When I got back on my bike had had to make a choice what event wanted to compete in at this years Summer X Games. I decided I wanted to ride Speed and Style. I sent some text over to some people at X Games and they told me the spots were already taken. I talked to one of my Pastors from EXTREME CHURCH  Lary Dean and told him there were not spots open. He said “Dude GOD is going to make A WAY” “Lets start PRAYING about it and BELIEVING GOD IS GOING TO DO SOMETHING” I agreed with what he had said and was encouraged by his words. So with 8 weeks before X, I stepped out in FAITH and said GOD I believe your going to open up a spot for me to ride in this years S&S event. I started PRAYING everyday. My first step of FAITH was buying a 450 and getting it setup for S&S. I had to spend 7,000.00 on a new 450 that I didn’t need unless I was going to ride S&S. But by FAITH I bought the bike believing GOD would open The DOOR and I would ride.[James 2:20 …faith without works (action) is dead (life less)] The next thing was, getting the bike setup, learn how to flip it and getting use to doing all my tricks on it! Then I had to change my training program and get into shape. I need to be able to pin it for 4 laps and still be able to hit all my tricks smooth. I knew I needed to get my cardio up, So I bought the INSANITY workout program off a infra commercial I saw on tv. HAHA! Sounds kind of lame , but its works! That workout is not JOKE! I changed my diet,stopped lifting heavy weights at the gym and just did light weights a lot of reps! Now i haven’t rode SX since 1997, so we all decided to pitch in and built a Super Cross track at Deegan’s house and get to work!

Over the next 8 weeks I prayed to GOD that HE would open The DOOR. I choose everyday to stand on the ROCK! To believe what the WORD of GOD says. That JESUS is the WAY [John 14:6-7] that He is The DOOR [John 10:7]. That with GOD all this are possible. That no weapon formed against me shall prosper. To be strong in the LORD and the power of HIS might [Eph.6:10]. That HE who is in me is greater then he who is in the world [1John 4:4], and if GOD is for us who could be against us![Romans 8:31] Everyday i proclaimed these TRUTHS in my LIFE! [Job 22:28 …You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you.] I trained my butt off. I rode 4 to 5 days a week, did the insanity workout everyday. I had my diet on point. And I had no DOUBT that GOD would open The DOOR! [John 10:4 …He goes before them (HIS sheep) and the sheep follow HIM, for they know HIS voice.]

Now it was getting down to the wire. It was the last week before X and I still didn’t have a spot. At this point I knew I was ready. I knew I could medal. AND every time a spot opened up, someone else got in before me. BUT I just kept PRAYING and BELIEVING! Tuesday morning I got my invite to be an alternate in S&S style. That was my last day to ride before I headed to LA on Thursday for X. Now I still wasn’t even the first alternate on the list. I went to X Games with my BIKE, my GEAR, my MIND, BODY, & SPIRIT ready to ride. AND i just kept BELIEVING. I knew GOD was going to open the DOOR i could feel it in my SPIRIT! The bible says Delight yourself with the LORD and HE shall give you the desires of you heart. Psalms 37:4

On Thursday as i was watching the FMX comp go down at the Coliseum, GOD put this song on my heart. I couldn’t stop singing it all day. The lyrics to the song go like this. Our GOD is GREATER – Our GOD is STRONGER – GOD YOU ARE HIGHER then any other – Our GOD is HEALER – Awesome in POWER – OUR GOD OUR GOD!! I sang that for hours that day! After the event was over Pastor Larry from EXTREME CHURCH and the TEAM FAITH guys did a devotional in the pits. The first song they opened worship with that day was that song i was singing all day. And not even a minute into that song I got the call form X Games. Everyone who needed to drop out before me did and I was officially in S&S on Sunday! I’m not even going to lie. I teared up! Cause GOD answer my prayers at that moment! I was overwhelmed how GREAT OUR GOD IS! GOD made a WAY. JESUS is The DOOR! [Ps. 22:3 God inhabits (lives in) the praises of  HIS people.]

Sunday rolled around. I was feeling really good in practice. I qualified  4th in the seating round. My first head to head match up with against Kevin Johnson the returning GOLD Medalist. I took him down with my tricks. He beat me in the race, but i out tricked him. Next round was Me vs. Travis Pastrana. Travis took me out that round putting me into the BRONZE medal round against my boy Twitch. Travis moving on to the GOLD medal round vs. Nate Adams.

Twitch got the jump out the gate, but i pulled the lead through the first section. Twitch went down in the second turn. I pulled a half a track lead and was on my way to a BRONZE medal. Going into the whoops on the third lap I stalled my bike and couldn’t get it started. Twitch caught back up and past me. He should of got the white flag that lap but the official gave him the checkered flag. He pulled up on the landing a looped out his bike. I pull off to congratulate him. And Deegan rushed over and said we both need to jump the last jump. So I gave Twitch a Brotherly push and pinned it to the ramp. We still had another lap to go. The race should of been red flagged and started over but Twitch’s bike was weeded. So X games decided just to give us both BRONZE MEDALS!

What an amazing two month journey of FAITH. GOD is so FAITHFUL! HE showed me how TRUE is WORD is in my life and how POWERFUL PRAYER is. Matthew 21:22 says “whatever things you ask in prayer, BELIEVING, you will receive” The bible also say “we are to WALK by FAITH and not by SIGHT” 2 Corinthians 5:17  And thats what I did. I stepped out in FAITH, prepared myself and i BELIEVED not only that GOD could do something, but that HE would do something And HE didn’t let me down. Not only did i get in the event, i walked away with a BRONZE MEDAL! HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD! Jas. 1:17 …every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights.
